The HMS Data Management Working Group (DMWG) offers resources and support for biomedical and biological research data management. This includes conducting workshops aimed at educating researchers in research data management best practices, developing resources reflecting current data management approaches, aggregating resources relevant to research data management, and providing a forum for questions and feedback from our research community.
Here you can find recent news and upcoming classes/events to stay up-to-date on data management and rigorous science topics. We also encourage you to sign-up for our quarterly "Data Management Newsletter" in order to stay connected with the group, recent policy changes, and upcoming trainings. If you are hosting a RDM related event, please submit it to our community calendar via our Harvard Longwood Campus Training Submission Form.
We represent a variety of expertise including members from the Center for the History of Medicine, Countway Library, Harvard Catalyst, and Research Information Technology Solutions, whose resources are highlighted in this section. Please see a full list of the group's current members on the "About: HMS Data Management Working Group" page.
Lastly, the "Additional Resources" tab is the place to find HMS and Harvard policies regarding data storage, intellectual property, data security and privacy. Here you will also find external links to educational opportunities to learn more about data management and how to improve your research processes.
